Color Blind and Empty Headed (corrected)

How does an immature and very silly guy keep a serious media job when he continually says colossally stupid things?  Pangender political talking head Chrissy Matthews said during the post mortem of Obama's State of the Minion Address, “...[that Obama] is post-racial by all appearances. You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour.”  Have you had your eyes examined recently Chrissy?  What did you mean by that condescending stupid remark Chrissy?  Are you implying that blacks per se are inferior?
 

There are two ways to judge Chrissy's remark. Either the remark is so stupid so as to cause one to question how an individual with an apparent room temperature IQ got so far in life?  This assumes that the room temperature was taken in an igloo in Northern Alaska.  Or is it as I suspect, that this is just another example showing that most Liberal-Fascists are closet racists.

Joe Biden is infamous for having said, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."  Now I might be persuaded to give "Old White Joe" the benefit of the doubt because he’s probably too dumb to do the mental gymnastics that it takes to be a hardcore racist.  What lame brain Biden probably meant to say was that Obama is a "clean-cut" guy.  That was a popular term during the 1950s and early 1960s.  Yeah, I might have given him the benefit of doubt had not Biden said, "You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent....I'm not joking."

 

Liberals are the gentler side of the same coin as hardcore racists.  They have the same condescending attitude toward "people of color" that the racists that they claim to hate have. Rudyard Kipling said it best in his poem, White Man's Burden. The poem was written in response to the American takeover of the Philippines after the Spanish-American War. The initial stanza of Kipling's poem is poignant: 

Take up the White Man's burden--

Send forth the best ye breed--

Go bind your sons to exile

To serve your captives' need;

To wait in heavy harness,

On fluttered folk and wild--

Your new-caught, sullen peoples,

Half-devil and half-child.

Indeed. "Half devil and half child" is how many smarmy white Liberals like Biden and Matthews appear to view minorities.  We could also add Harry Reid to the mix with his left handed praise of Obama. Factor in  Hillary Clinton's and Jimmy Carter's alleged anti-semitism and we are getting a truer picture of white Liberal elitists with a bigoted weltanschauung.  

Liberals are usually shocked whenever they encounter any minority with a fighting chance at a three digit IQ.  In my own experience, the "new" wife of my former brother in law was "shocked" last May to learn that I had a real college education and a solid career path. It was the first time that we'd met so I'm sure that she had her preconceptions.  Perhaps her perception of, or experience with Hispanics is based upon a stereotype of us as domestic or agricultural help.  But before I go any further please note that there is nothing wrong with good honest work. 

In an interesting discussion thread, former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, is quoted as saying that "all work is honorable" referring to the time that he swept floors at store in New York City.  I would amend General Powell's statement to exclude terrorists, criminals, and politicians.  I have more respect for prostitutes than politicians, because unlike politicians they appear to deliver on their promises most of the time.  Unfortunately, these women are among the most exploited workers in America. 

On the other hand, there is another group of  workers that are being exploited.  If I ever had a gripe against Cesar Chavez it's that he never envisioned his union members as aspiring toward upward mobility.  Instead, his union has turned into a corrupt family run enterprise that has little interest in the welfare of the farm workers.  This is yet another example of the soft bigotry of low expectations.  Chavez saw his union's members as nothing more than dues paying migrant farmworkers.  Chavez had no vision for the betterment of them.  This is the essence of the Liberal mindset.  They speak of hope but offer nothing more that illusory change.  As we know intuitively, hope is an excuse to do nothing while one waits for the illusory change.  This almost as frustrating as watching Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot.

This brings us back to Obama.  He is the most protected political figure in American history. We know nothing about him except for what he's told us in his two books, one of which is rumored to have been written by American domestic terrorist and Hugo Chavez soulmate, Bill Ayers. The leftist view on this topic is in the Huffington Post and the conservative view is in the American Thinker.  Whatever the true authorhip of the books is, Obama is the perfect stalking horse for the imposition of Marxist socialism.  By using a "black" man to try to advance their Marxist agenda, the Democrats have the perfect cover to disguise their totalitarian goals.  If their Marxist agenda is challenged then the response by the Democrats will be that the critics are "racist" and that they want the first "black" President to fail.

We've been told that Obama is the smartest man ever to be President.  In reality, that distinction belongs to John Quincy Adams,  who unlike Obama spoke several languages.  Obama is probably a clever con artist with an above average IQ.  But we'll never know for sure because all of his school and other records are sealed. Why? What is there to hide?  Obama was the President(editor) of the Harvard Law Review and taught at the prestigious University of Chicago Law School, yet he's never produced one word of legal scholarship.  We don't even know if he's a real US citizen. It apparently takes more documentation of one's identity and background to buy a cell phone than it  does to become President of the United States.  Were Obama the real deal, all he would have to do is to show his birth certificate and Obama would embarass the hell out of lots of people and make them look like total fools and racist jackasses.

But the soft bigotry of low expectations will never allow the truth to emerge, as we wait and hope  for change.  Until their goals are reached the Democrats have a vested interest in maintaining Obama's deep cover. The truly sad thing is that Obama is just a puppet of the most vile racists in the history of humankind.           

Prison Broke, the Series

Arnold Swarzenegger has suggested that California might ease its budgetary crisis by paying Mexico to build prisons to house some 20,000 illegal immigrant prisoners.  He also believes that California should consider outsourcing prison services to the private sector.  According to CorpWatch: The largest provider of private prison facilities in the United States is Corrections Corporation of America (CCA).  Excellence in Corrections is CCA's motto.  You have to admit that their sales pitch (website) is pretty slick.  But what does "excellence in corrections" really mean?  Would recidivism be reduced; or would the real measure of success be a lower cost to house an exploding prison population? 

A hundred years ago private prisons were a familiar feature of American life, with disastrous consequences. Prisoners were farmed out as slave labor. They were routinely beaten and abused, fed slop and kept in horribly overcrowded cells. Conditions were so wretched that by the end of the nineteenth century private prisons were outlawed in most states.

The modern concept of the penitentiary was born in 1779, when John Howard introduced the Penitentiary Act to correct the abuses that Howard had documented in his report, The State of Prisons in England and Wales.  Under Howard's concept, prisoners were expected to work long hours in heavy manual labor during the day and be confined in individual cells at night to meditate upon penitence or remorse over their bad deeds. 

But prison management means different things to different people.  The out-of-control fascist US Attorney General Eric Holder is  currently persecuting Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio for alleged civil rights violations.  Holder's Department of Justice has become the Department of Injustice and may as well be staffed by the National Lawyers Guild or the ACLUseless. There's also the very real possibility that Arpaio and some of his staff might be indicted by a Federal grand jury looking into alleged abuses of power by Arpaio.

 

Proverbial ham sandwiches aside, forcing inmates to wear pink underwear and live in tents is made to sound like the second coming of Abu Gharib, but only if you're so inclined to believe the Liberal-Fascist vermin press and other Leftist America haters.  The above-cited Wikipedia article on Abu Gharib is rife with undocumented  allegations written in the style of the average Daily Kos kook.  This is in line with the general m.o. of the Left, which is to lie and then lie some more.  I've yet to meet a Liberal Fascist ideologue that ever told the complete truth about anything or anyone they are opposed to.   

The 19th Century English philosopher and social theorist Jeremy Bentham designed  a prison building, which  he called the Panopticon.   The key feature of the building is that prisoners can be simultaneously watched.  Although the Panopticon was not constructed, according to the Wikipedia article on the subject, the the design had an important influence upon later generations of thinkers. Twentieth-century French philosopher Michel Foucault argued that the Panopticon was paradigmatic of a whole raft of nineteenth-century 'disciplinary' institutions.  Ironically, the former Mexican prison,  Palacio de Lecumberri in Mexico City, Mexico was inspired by the Panopticon.  It now houses the General National Archive.

It's not beyond the span of possibilities that a privately run prison might take on the clinical coldness of Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork Orange in which experimentation with behaviorial modification techniques in prisons  might become commonplace.  Moreover, the temptation to make a prison even more profitable could result in a fascist gulag mentality in which common decency becomes an afterthought. Prisoners could be rented out to big Pharma for drug experimentation, used for dangerous projects, slave labor, or even for organ transplants.  The possibilites for predatory socialist commercialism is frightening.

There is always the temptation to let the private sector take over government services or for politicians to say that they will run government "like a business."  There isn't a more boneheaded concept floating around the political arena.  Governments are not profit making entities.  Core government services such as law enforcement, fire protection,  code enforcement, zoning, and yes, prisons are the  responsibility of government and not CPAs or Harvard MBAs.

One last question Arnie, how we gonna pay for building prisons in Mexico?  Did you instead ever think of billing Mexico and other countries for the cost of maintaining their wayward citizens on the oppressed California taxpayer's dime? No, of course not.  Pinhead politicians seldom have any good ideas--just the really stupid ones.

It was great to see the most unworthy team in the 2010 NFL Playoffs go down to defeat.  I'm writing of course about the New York Jets, the wildly over-hyped team that got in the Playoffs only because the Indianapolis Colts and the Cinncinati Bengals laid down to enable them to go 9-7 and back in to the playoffs.  Recall the furor last season when the San Diego Chargers got into the Playoffs with an 8-8 record.  At least the Chargers were a proven team based uponnht their record of winning two  AFC Western Division Championships.  The Jets have wallowed in mediocrity most of the past decade. Now if the Chargers would only get rid of that inept Cabbage Patch clone of a placekicker, then the Chargers might do better than one and out.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?

The election of Scott Brown to Ted Kennedy's (RIP) vacated Senate seat  has officially closed out the Kennedy era.  Next to Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, the Kennedy's  were the most overrated political figures of all time.  Without the protection and active partisan support of the Lame Stream Media, they all would have short footnotes in American history books.  Let's hope that Senator Brown lives up to his advance notices and isn't another RINO or even a John McCain.

Check this YouTube video out!  Obama (a.k.a. Odumbo) needed a teleprompter to speak to sixth graders! This is the equivalent of Lance Armstrong using training wheels during the Tour de France. [And they said Bush was dumb!] Can we buy Odumbo's contract out before there's any more damage to America's body politic and our financial standing?  You need a a reason for impeachment well here's one from negligence law: res ipsa loquitur.

GOOD RIDDANCE! AIR AMERICA FINALLY DIES AN INGLORIOUS BASTURDLY AND LONG OVERDUE DEATH!

Air(head) America radio has finally died!  Good riddance! These people were about as entertaining as a barbed wire enema.  Hearing professional morons like Al "Ass Pirate" Franken, Janeane "Buffalo Butt" Garafalo, Chuck "Not-so" Nice, that flamming A-hole Lionel, Rachael "Mad Dog" Maddow,  and Rham Emmanuel's future dance partner, Ron Reagan, Jr. (his name is pure blasphemy), was torture beyond waterboarding at Gitmo or anything done at Abu Ghraib (أبو غريب‎)! This was the same organization that stole money from little kids in the so-called Gloria Wise scandal. 

While the thieving Liberal-Fascist Air America repaid the alleged loan back, no Liberal-Fascist, as per usual, was subject to any criminal fraud penalties. This is why Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle, Franklin Raines, Maxine Waters, Diane Feinstein, and  Bill Clinton walk the streets uncharged with any Federal crime.  So long as the Dunce AG of the US DOJ, Eric Holder is in charge no evil piss-ant Liberal-Fascist pig will ever be prosecuted. 

We need to see Obama's school records to see if this guy is really as "smart" as represented.  My guess is that is not the man as represented.  But the weak media on the left, a.k.a., the alphabet networks will ignore the sins of these vile offenders.  The Democrook will walk as usual.     

A Contract with America for 2010

Here is a proposed Contract with America for 2010 that the Republican party should present to the American people during the mid-term elcetions if the great damage that has been done to this country by Obama in 2009 is to be undone. 

There is risk in openly opposing the Obama regime.  Like all fascists they vehimently hate criticism and punish their enemies severely.  (And you thought Nixon was wicked bad!)  The Nazi-like tendencies of this administration, coupled with their gulag / Robert Mugabe mentality--well, know this, an IRS audit would be like a vacation in Bermuda with 72 porno princesses in comparison to what the advocates of medical death panels would probably do to a political opponent if there were no Bill of Rights.  But they're working on destroying our rights.  

It is more likely than not that they will resort to incarceration and eventual death ("shot while trying to escape") in re-education camp for their opponents if they are successful in keeping their majorities in the House and the Senate.  That's why Gitmo will not be closed anytime soon.  

Without further ado here is a Proposed Contract with America 2010 for the liberation of America from the totalitarian Liberal Fascists:

1.  Exempt the first $10,000 of Gross Income from taxation that is placed in a designated liquid tax savings account. The final figure for purposes of determing the tax exemption  would be determined by the same method used to determine the average daily balance for your credit card balance. The difference is that the figure would be determined on an annualized basis.  Because the account would be liquid, it would available without the penalties associated with withdrawals from other time deposit accounts.  The only penalty to the taxpayer would be a self-imposed one that would reduce the size of the tax exemption if any funds are withdrawn prior to January 1st of the succeeding tax year.

The net effect of this proposal would be to provide real funds to financial institutions and not loaned Federal fiat money. The banks in turn could loan these real monetary funds to the real job creators--small businesses.   This expands the money supply in the purest capitalistic way without any government bailouts or loans. 

You can almost hear the class warfare stooges saying that the exemption favors the rich.  So what if some "wealthy" people  get a $10,000 exemption?  Isn't their money just as good if used to benefit the entire nation?  This proposed investment tax treatment also makes any tax savings  savings bank account an attractive investment for every economic level.  More importantly  everyone, poor, comfortable, and rich alike would have the incentive to save and provide their own tax cuts. 

Warren Buffett and Bill Gates have sheltered their fortunes through charitable foundations.  So why not have a shelter for the the rest of us?  Of course this would take a lot of power away from the Federal Reserve Bank, but quite frankly they've done a lousy job of managing the money supply and the economy.

2. Provide for generous capital gains treatment and accelerated depreciation for all domestic AND foreign companies that construct or significantly improve factories located or constructed within the United States.

3. Provide for a sur-deduction of ten percent of the average monthly salary plus the monthly base salary of non-management employees.  The caveat to this would that the (1) employee must have worked for  a minimum of 180 days and have not been terminated for cause or laid off, (2) Have the absolute legal right to work in the United States, and (3) have actually worked a minimum of 90% of the employment period.  There will be no exceptions to requirment (3), including illness.  Temporary and seasonal help would be excluded from eligibility for the sur-deduction.

4. Place a 12-month moritorium on NEW applications for immigration visas and citizenship.  Those already in process may continue.  Hardship and refugee cases may be considered on a case by case basis.

5. Under no circumstances shall unconditional amnesty to illegal immigrants be granted. 

6. All costs for expenses incurred because of illegal immigration shall be collected from the country of origin and not the Federal government.  Jurisdiction for a new Federal cause of action for state, local governments, and other entities that have provided uncompensated services and goods to illegal immigrants shall be in the Federal Court system in the Court of Claims.

7. American English shall become the official business language of the Federal government.  This means that all official Federal documents and voting materials involving  any Federal election shall be published in American English only.  States and local governments may continue to use multi-lingual ballots but only for local and state elections.

8. Immediately end all bans on offshore drilling and nuclear power construction.   We have denied ourselves a plentiful energy source because of a stupid movie, The China Syndrome and one oil spill.  The Liberal-Fascists are clinging to old tech.

9.  Immediately commence an investigation into the accounting procedures and practices of Freddie Mac and, in particular, Fannie Mae that resulted in former head Franklin Raines to reap $93 million in bonuses.  Ken Lay of Enron infamy had nothing on that guy in terms of creative accounting leading to bigtime bonuses for corrupt executives.

10. Term limits for every Federal office.  Two four-year terms for the President, two six year terms for Senators, four two-year terms for House members, and 16 years with a right of reconfirmation for all Federal judges. The reason for 16 years is because Americans voted in 1944 to give the First American Fascist Dictator, Franklin D. Roosevelt a fourth term as President.  No one should ever have a lifetime office or job.  This is why we became independent  from the King of England in 1776.  We got rid of an oppressive King.  For now, let's get rid of an emerging de facto fascist dictatorship.

  

Foul Ball! Steroids, Baseball, and Hypocrisy

There are three things that you just don't mess with in America. They are--in no particular order--kids, dogs, and baseball.  Child molesters that are exposed to the general population in prison are assured of certain death.  Mistreatment of a dog invites scorn and contempt, although that is now under question with the NFL's attempted beatification of Michael Vick.  And please note that the American people take their baseball very, very seriously. 

There is a widespread misconception among baseball fans that Major League Baseball (MLB) is the only sport that is pure and pristine.  NBA players are considered gangsta' thugs. Rush Limbaugh once described quite accurately that a typical NFL game sometimes resembles a fight between the Crips and the Bloods.  But, baseball fans conveniently forget about the "Black Sox" scandal, the Pete Rose gambling scandal (more on that below), the use of greenies, spitballs, and the collusion among club owners to avoid competitive bidding for players' services. Yet baseball fans are outraged at steroid use in baseball.  ("I'm shocked, shocked that there is drug use in Major League Baseball!")

In an interview with Bob Costas, Mark McGwire finally admitted steroid use, confirming what was probably the worst kept secret in the history of humankind.  McGwire, between crocodile tears, claimed that he used steroids only for health purposes although an FBI informant claims otherwise.   McGwire was recently hired to be the hitting instructor for the St.Louis Cardinals.  Cardinal Manager Tony LaRussa stands by his man claiming that McGwire would have hit all those home runs without steroids.  Yeah, and Dave Kingman hit for average.

Maybe there was a pang of guilt, but in reality McGwire was probably testing the waters to see if baseball would accept his return.  McGwire has been under the radar since his retirement in 2001, thus avoiding the scorn and contempt experienced by Barry Bonds.  Bonds has been essentially ostracized from MLB since 2007, with no AL team needing a power-hitting DH with bad knees.  Bonds is also under indictment for perjury.  The trial has been indefinitely postponed. Other steroid users haven't fared much better.  There is the indefinite suspension by MLB of Rafael Palmiero following his finger waving testimony before Congress.  Another player in steroid limbo is Roger Clemens who continues to be investigated by the Department of Justice for perjury.  Sammy Sosa, despite being named as one of the 103 players that tested positive for steroid use, calmly waits--as he believes--for his induction into the Hall of Fame.

By cutting a deal with Congress before his testimony before his testimony, McGwire, until his tearful confession has avoided any consequences of his steroid use.  But who knows what McGwire gave the "Honorable Gentlepersons" of the Congress [sic]  in exchange for his testimony?  For some reason, McGwire has received kid glove treatment all of these years while others have paid in one way or another for using performance enhancing drugs.  Steven A. Smith expressed his contempt for McGwire on the January 12th broadcast of his Fox Sports show.  The elephant in the room was that McGwire was given preferential treatment because he is White as opposed to the treatment that Barry Bonds has endured.  It's not clear whether the race victim card applies here, but it is odd that McGwire got a Congressional deal that others didn't get.  What is really laughable is that perhaps the most crooked Congress--(read Democrats)--in American history self-righteously deigns to judge alleged steroid users.     

Many fans still question the continued suspension of Pete Rose for gambling on baseball.  A USA Today/Gallup poll showed that 75 percent of more than 1,000 Americans surveyed think that player use of performance-enhancing drugs is more serious than Rose's gambling offense. The same poll shows that support for Rose's Hall of Fame eligibility has not changed in 20 years--60 percent favor it and 35 percent are opposed to make Rose eligible.  Whatever Rose was, he gave his all on the field and never considered any alternative to winning. He was known as Charlie Hustle because of that quality.  While reprehensible on its face, knowing how competitive Rose was, it is believable that he would bet on his own team.  But it was still wrong to gamble on baseball.  My über-smart Sister once told me that, "If it's wrong on Monday then it's wrong the rest of the week." 
  

But all of these barroom and squawk radio discussions about relative filth miss the point.  Both gambling and steroid use compromise the integrity of the game.  Otherwise, why not evolve into sports entertainment like the WWE?  That's because although we may know the probable outcome of a WWE wrestling match and that some of the wrestler's bodies may be "enhanced," we're still entertained.  FYI, there are fans of wrestling that are called "smarks" that are fans that enjoy pro wrestling despite or because they know that it is staged.  But Americans enjoy a wide range of entertainment options and know how to put things in their proper perspective.  The only time they get angry is when there's a misrepresentation of the product that they've spent their hard earned dollars on.  This is the emotion behind the anger toward Tiger Woods who was misrepresented as a clean-cut guy but who turned out in reality to be Tiger Woody.  From all this, perhaps even Barack Obama might experience a "teachable moment" and reconsider his misrepresentation that he is a moderate.  But knowing how arrogant he is and that he is Soros' puppet, it's doubtful that he would ever be open-minded enough to be truthful.  It is turning out that there is no such thing as change that we can believe in.

From what we're hearing and reading, it sure sounds like the real racists are the Democrats.   After all, but for the Republicans, there might have never been a Voting Rights Act or the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  Who can ever forget former DNC Chair Howard Dean's remark “You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room?  Only if they had the hotel staff in here.” 

Liberals tend to view minorites as their personal servants to do their dirty work.  [NN: By the way the usual Democrat stepin' fetchits are defending Reid as "not having a racist bone in his body."]  They also tend to be very condescending toward educated minorites.   I remember when I was a young public defender that a senior public defender was shocked that I was "able" to help her solve the New York Times crossword puzzle during a court recess (i.e., lunch).  To her, I was probably just another affirmative action refugee that had no business in the real world of criminal law except as a defendant!  Most attorneys are self-described liberals, a term which is quickly becoming synonymous with "bigot."

The obvious racism of the Democrat Party has been covered up for years  by the Lame Stream Media and is the dirty little political secret of Obama's so-called post-racial America.  They're now busy covering up for Harry  Reid by trying to distract attention from Reid's impolitic remark.  That's why the Sarah Palin  red herring was used by the Liberal media stooges at 60 Minutes after the news broke about Reid's racist remarks.  But that's not new for the Liberal-Fascist propagandists.  Cover-up is always the m.o. for Liberal-Fascist shortcomings, i.e., history and facts are always ignored by Liberal-Fascist media stooges.

How about former Klansman and Democrat Senate Majority Leader Bobby "Big" Byrd's use of the term "white nigger" during an interview with the late Tony Snow?  "Big Byrd's" remarks  were offensive!  But true to Fox News' service mark of "Fair and Balanced" they gave the ex-Klansman a chance to retract the offensive remark.  But you'd never see ANY Liberal-Fascist news organization like CNN, ABC, NBC, or See BS  (CBS) extending that courtesy to any conservative politician.

So what did 60 Minutes concentrate on in speaking with authors Heilemann and Halperin?  It broadcast 13 minutes of an apparently separate interview featuring the lame excuses of the inept campaign manager of the McCain campaign, Steve Schmidt.  Schmidt was desperately trying to cover his derriere over his failed election strategy.  He did this by blaming Sarah Palin.  But even Schmidt had to admit that Palin made the race a lot closer than it would have been. 

Palin has mass appeal and common sense, which frightens the hell out of elitist ridgling liberal males and the symbiotic liberal females that get opportunities only because of their husband's  connections (Yo, Hillary) or their family connections (Yo, Caroline Kennedy but you still blew the chance to become the junior Senator from New York!).  What got Obama into office was having an inept over-the-hill candidate, John McCain, (Bob Dole redux) as the GOP candidate.  But we really don't know how smart Obama is because every bit of information about him is sealed.  That Soros money sure buys a lot of silence.  The question is why are the Democrats  hiding so much about this empty suit?  We don't even really know where he was born.

The Palin "hit piece" was anchored by closet journalist Anderson Cooper of the leftist cable network CNN.  Ask yourself, now why would CNN, a Time-Warner property and allegedly a competitor of CBS, a Viacom property, loan out Anderson Cooper to 60 Minutes?  Maybe because they are unified in their quest to establish a socialist regime in the US.  We've seen before thesame leftist cabal practice of trying to destroy a potentially strong candidate that is contrary to the Liberal-Fascist agenda.  In 2008, the Lame Stream Media began running less than flattering stories on Mormons when it appeared that Mitt Romney was a viable presidential candidate. In furtherance of this political meddling, HBO also resurrected the old polygamy issue with its series Big Love even though the LDS (Mormon) Church officially abandoned the practice in 1890.  Members of the LDS Church that are found practicing polygamy are excommunicated. 

At one time Mormons also had a policy promulgated under Brigham Young to not admit blacks into the priesthood.  The policy changed in 1978 to one of racial tolerance as was the original Mormon practice in the 1830s.   By the way, Harry Reid is a Mormon.  Now wouldn't it be a fair question to ask Reid if supported the Mormon post-1978 racial policy or whether he still supports Brigham Young's old racial policy?  But that's not something that the unpressed ladies and gentlemen of the press are interested in.  No, they're far too busy pushing the Liberal Fascist agenda.

Gunfight at the not-so-OK NBA Corral

Ever wonder what some entertainment people and athletes do with all that big money that they make?  If you've ever looked at the MTV show Cribs, you've been treated to seeing such wise investments as buying High-Def TVs, (to watch crap-o-vision), for every bathroom--maybe that's another reason that it's called the crapper. All kidding aside most of the expeditures made by celebrities are foolish and reflect an immature outlook on life.  (It's almost as foolish as the proposed uncapped propping up of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by the US Treasury.)

So what happens when testosterone loaded young athletes with idle time and idle cash get together?  Well, there was a high-stakes card game aboard a December 19th Washington Wizards charter flight.  It resulted in a $25,000 gambling debt that, if you'll pardon the pun, triggered the locker-room faux gun-play between NBA super-star Gilbert Arenas and his teammate Javaris Crittenton. The deadbeat-debt collector standoff occured in the locker room of the Wizard's home arena.  The Wizards did everything to cover up the incident, but in this media saturated era in which everyone is a reporter or a media whore the story emerged.  It's also claimed that the guns were empty so nothing really happened. You know the old "no harm no foul" bromide.  A father of one of my best childhood friends always admonished us both to never point a gun at anything unless you intend to shoot it.

The article in the New York Post, which broke the story, described Arenas' high stakes gambling habits.  Among other things, Arenas would rush to play video pocker during halftimes at Wizard games.  Faux gun-play aside, doesn't the gambling habits of star NBA players bother Commissioner Stern at all?  Pete Rose was suspended for gambling on games and is still being denied any return to MLB because he still gambles in betting parlors. 

The NBA should be concerned with gambling in any form, especially after the NBA's 2008 betting scandal involving former NBA referee Tim Donaghy.  Referee Donaghy did time in the federal pen for his role in a gambling scheme in which he provided "inside information" to mob gamblers.  So how was Donaghy ensnared into working with mob gamblers?   Donaghy was a high stakes gambler.  It's easy to connect the dots to figure out how someone like Donaghy might be "persuaded" to provide "insider information." Such insider information included how referees would treat certain players leniently or strictly during games.   

Although David Stern may might claim that Donaghy's misdeeds were an isolated incident, Donaghy's gambling associate, Jimmy "The Sheep" Battista has claimed that at least 13 more referees were involved.  This should be a more serious concern to Stern than a pair of punks playing with empty guns like brainless adolescents.  Gambling has corrupted all sports.  Lotteries, OTB, online sports books, odds makers, poker TV tournaments and other forms of gambling are a part of our daily lives.  Think about it the next time you participate in the NCAA Tournament basketball pool at work.  By the way in California, unless it's over $2,500 all you'll get is a $250 fine instead of a misdemeanor conviction for bookmaking.  I guess you all caught a break there. After all what's a friendly bet between friends?  It's nothing worth pulling a gun over. Now get back to work.
